Adacao Elementary School Librarian
Adacao's School Librarian is Ms. Thea Cortez. This is Ms. Cortez's eighth year as a librarian, but she's been a member of Adacao's faculty since the school opened in 2009. Ms. Cortez has been with the Guam Department of Education for over 15 years. She started her teaching career as a 4th grade teacher at Capt. H.B. Price Elementary school in 2007. She also taught 1st grade for two years before transferring to Adacao Elementary School (AES) when the school opened in 2009. She was a 4th grade teacher for five years at AES and taught 3rd grade for one year before becoming the school librarian.
Ms. Cortez became Adacao Elementary School's librarian during the 2015 - 2016 school year. She meets with all students from Head Start to fifth grade once a week, so she feels like a rock star when she walks down the hallway. She also helps out with PBIS, serves as part of the faculty council for the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) and works with the counselor, Ms. Melanie, to organize the District-Wide Assessment every year. Ms. Cortez enjoys dressing up for spirit week, reading, traveling and watching shows with subtitles (because she loves reading!). You can contact her at 300-6500 or email her at [email protected] for any questions about the library.
