circulation policy
In order to check out a book, students must submit a signed permission form from home and take responsibility for lost or damaged books. Permission forms will be distributed by the librarian when students visit the library in the beginning of the year. This form is valid for the child's ENTIRE ENROLLMENT at Adacao Elementary School. No student will be allowed to check out a book until a signed permission is received in the library.
- Kindergarten students will not check out books. They will be provided with books to choose from during library time.
- First graders will not check out books during the first semester (1st and 2nd Quarter). Students may begin checking out books from the Easy/Everybody section during the second semester (3rd and 4th quarter) depending on their teacher.
- Students in Grades 1-5 may select 1 book to check out. Books are checked out for 1 week.
- Students may check out and return books during their library rotation time or during open check out times.
- There will be NO OVERDUE FINES for late books. However, students will NOT be allowed to check out books until borrowed books are returned.
- Reference books and magazines are for use in the library only.
- Students/parents and teachers will be charged for the full replacement cost for any lost or items that are damaged beyond repair.
Fees and fines
The Adacao Elementary School Library does NOT charge fines for overdue book. Fees will be assessed only for books that are lost or damaged beyond repair.
